I know it's been awhile Dear Reader & Cat Lover. It's been one of those lazy slumber summers and I must say a warm September, so I just curled up at the Bay Window and let the happy sun beam all over me, heat-seeker that I am, for days, weeks...
Now, it's the second week in October and I am feeling a little chill nipping at my nose leather, signaling it's time to begin our adventures in human interest stories again...from a cat's point of view, of course.
Blue, who has been busy stretching the length of his entire body from his head to his tail, suddenly pounces up to the window seat besides me.
Oh look, there's Clyde in human form, sitting on the bench at the bus stop next to lady. Being the curious souls we are, we press our noses to the glass and naturally possessing of super sonic senses, can hear and see everything that is going on:
Clyde has on a neon orange and pink wool cap and a bright green faux leather bomber jacket. He keeps sneaking peeks at the woman besides him. She is putting on her makeup. The entire works!
She keeps applying different lipsticks, then assess the results disdainfully, wipes all of the lipstick off of her mouth, then reapplies a different color. Finally, she applies a pinkish shade and it seems to look nice enough to make Clyde's eyes twinkle, but she doesn't like it, so she removes it roughly with a kleenex, then puts on a blackish lip color shade. Clyde is watching her the whole time.
"That pink one you had on before looked the best so far," he tells her with a smile.
She gives him an annoyed look. "Mind your own business, please" she tells him, "this is a private matter, if I wanted your opinion I'd ask you for it".
"Sorry," Clyde apologizes, "but that black lipstick makes you look hard, the pink was much softer and more feminine."
The woman looks at Clyde and laughs. "Well, Mr. Lite Brite, you're nuts if you think I'm about to take style tips from a "Fashion Don't".
